Abia to boost basic amenities

By  Anayo Okoli

Umuahia—ABIA State Government says it will continue to provide basic amenities that would enhance the economic growth of the state with a view to actualising the mission statement of the Progressive Peoples Alliance, PPA, which is bequeathing lasting prosperity to the people.

The state Governor, Chief Theodore Orji, who said this while commissioning some projects built by the Chairman of Arochukwu Local Government Area, Mazi Chibuike Jonas, restated that his administration’s cardinal policy thrust was to provide affordable houses, good road network in all the senatorial zones of the State, as well as the provision of free healthcare and quality education for every Abian.

Orji, who was represented by his Deputy, Mr Chris Akomas, described the various Ochendo Youth Development centres across the local government areas as a step in the right direction,  as government was focused on the development of youths to enable them compete favourably with other youths from across the state, nation and beyond.

He commended Jonas for completing the Judges’ Quarters and High Court building, saying that  it was a demonstration of government’s belief in the rule of law, which it benefited largely from.
