Soludo not saleable, says Agagbo

By Henry Umoru

ABUJA – Since the adoption of Professor Chukwuma Soludo as the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the Anambra  gubernatorial election, criticisms have continue to trailed the move with one of the aspirants, Mrs. Chinyere Ogugua Agagbo describing the former CBN governor as a non sellable candidate.

Agagbo who warned that PDP would be shocked in the election if Soludo remains the flagbearer of the party, called on the party to complete the congress where an acceptable candidate would then emerge.

Speaking with Vanguard, the aspirant said she was prepared to embrace and work with Soludo if he emerges at a well conducted State congress and not the way he came in through what she described as back door, adding that she knows that President Umaru Yar’adua is one person who believes in rule and would ensure that the matter was nipped in the bud.

On whether she would like to be Soludo’s deputy in case the party changes its position, Agagbo who noted that people have invested in the party before now, adding, “the structures are humans, it is not about Soludo, it is about the people, about the grassroots, the women who want roads, the governance of Anambra State is in the hands of the people, not just about someone who just came in two months ago , it is not about grammar, any government that excludes women will never succeed.
