YenagoaThe Joint Task Force, JTF, in the Niger Delta codenamed Operation Pulo Shield, has sunk and donated a water borehole to Akipelai community in Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.

The project is part of the Major General Emmanuel Atewe-led JTF carrot and stick approach in the fight against illegal oil bunkering and theft in the Niger Delta region.

The borehole, which is sited at the premises of the Community Secondary School, Akipelai, was commissioned by President Goodluck Jonathan’s mother, Mrs. Eunice Jonathan, a native of the community.

Mrs Jonathan, who thanked the JTF Commander for his efforts towards eradicating illegalities in the Niger Delta region, lauded his professional approach in carrying out the mandate of the Task Force.
