The Nigerian Red Cross has said that the blast that killed at least eight persons including a pregnant woman and her two children and injuring several others in Kaduna was a bomb.
In an internal Red Cross report in Lagos, viewed by The Associated Press, say the explosion occurred after two men riding on a motorbike stopped in front of a shop.
Yesterday, the police authorities said the explosion which occurred at No.32 Ogbomosho Street, off Katsina Road, Ori-Akpata, had resulted from a gas cylinder.
The Kaduna State Police Commissioner, Ballah Magaji Nasarawa, told newsmen at the scene when asked about the two men who allegedly arrived on a motorcycle and hurled the explosives, said, “that is not true.”
