Beckham wants London 2012 action

David Beckham has expressed his desire to play at the 2012 Olympics in London.

The midfielder, who has not featured for England since missing out on the 2010 World Cup in South Africa through injury, insists he must focus on the rest of the season with LA Galaxy first.

“I’d like to be involved in the Olympics as a player,” Beckham said to the Toronto Star. “But we will have to wait and see. That’s a year away. I will enjoy the rest of this season. We are only five games in.”

The former Manchester Untied star then went on to discuss his future and revealed that he could well stay in the MLS when his contract with LA Galaxy expires at the end of the season.

“I haven’t made any decision about what I’m going to do after this year. I think it’s important that I just concentrate on my play,” he said.
