In a manner that depicted worry and anger consequent upon the present poor state of the Nigerian economy, President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday in Abuja lashed out at the 16 years rule of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, regretting that the previous governments did not save for the “rainy day”

THE leadership of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the South-South geo- political zone has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to as a matter of urgency, release the remaining results of the just concluded re-run election in Rivers State in the interest of the political advancement of the nation.

FORTUNES of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, suffered yet another setback in Delta State, following the defection of a former member of the State House of Assembly, Chief Joseph Oshevire and hundreds of his supporters defected to the All Progressive Congress, APC.

Since the defeat by the All Progressive Congress in last year’s general election, members of the Peoples Democratic Party have been forced to an unfamiliar position of being a party in opposition after sixteen years of calling the shots at the federal level. Gradually but steadily, members of the party, especially its leadership have come to accept that the years of dictating the pace of activities in the country are over; at least in the next three years when there would be another elections and the parties will seek the people’s mandate again.
