Mr Matthew Iduoroyekemwen, who came second with 13 per cent of the votes in last Monday’s governorship primaries of the PDP is set to cause heartaches for the party with his decision to purchase the governorship form of the rival primary being organised by Senator Ali Modu Sheriff led faction of the party.
Besides him, a member of the House of Representatives, Mr Ehiozuwa Agbonayinma, Egor/Ikpoba Okhai has also identified himself with the Sheriff tendency with his declaration to contest the governorship primaries being organised by the faction.
The duo who have bought governorship nomination forms to participate in the June 29 governorship primaries of the faction scheduled to hold at the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium, Benin City, described the primaries that brought in Pastor Ize-Iyamu as a charade.
Speaking to journalists at the Benin Airport where they were welcomed by the supporters, Agbonayinma who disclosed that he joined the governorship race to rescue PDP from destruction in the state, saying that from the court judgments obtained by Sheriff he would prefer to identify with him.
“For a while we had not had the opportunity to look at the judgment of the court in favour of Sheriff until many of us had the opportunity to see the judgment.”
