CHRISTMAS and its charm are parting ways. Years back, depending on where you were, and how you were, maybe who you were, Christmas was the best part of the year. We looked forward to its unbridled extravagance. There was too much to eat and drink and we enjoyed liberties that we could only imagine at other times.

NATIONAL President of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor has again commended the Nigerian Senate for passing into law the Same Sex Marriage bill which frowns at the anti-social practice currently gaining grounds in the Western part of the world in the name of respect for human rights.

AS the year winds to an end with many Nigerians looking for a way out of the many security challenges confronting the nation, a cleric, Apostle Charles Osazuwa has called for a firm leadership that will evolve some radical changes that will move the nation forward.

THIS may come as a shock for some, but Christmas is a real difficult time for some folk. You may or may not celebrate the holiday as the birthday of Jesus or you may just celebrate it as a national or family holiday, or you may even choose not to celebrate it at all.

IT is reasonable to argue that the current subsidy being put on petroleum products, especially Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) or petrol should be allowed to remain. This is because every economy, like most proponents of the subsidy retention policy had rightly argued, provides subsidy to its citizenry in one way or the other. For instance, the United States of America (USA) and Europe, where hunger has been conquered, massive subsidy is placed on agriculture and its produce. This is why food in these countries are cheap and affordable to both the poor and the rich.

As Nigeria battles to stem activities of the dreaded Islamic sect, Boko Haram, Warri based Reverend (Dr) Simeon Okah, Bishop of the Flock of Christ Mission, says the sect’s activities are inadvertently helping to convert more people to Christianity as Nigerians and elsewhere do not like to be associated with violence. He also speaks on insecurity and other issues of national interest. Excerpts:

If not for providence, Pastor Joseph Ayodele Oritsejafor would have been a cast away. As a young man, he was rascal to the extent that people questioned if the hand of God could be extended to him. God had His plans for the then young man as Pastor Ayo against all odds gave his life to Christ during a crusade in Sapele, Delta State.
