Have you ever been to a  place of no return? A  place where, there seems to be no light at the end of the tunnel? You have turned everywhere you can think of, but still no solution. And you are wondering what next to do, whom do you run to and who can help you.

The answer is looking above to Jesus Christ, the author and finisher of our faith. Only Jesus can turn around the impossible situations in your life and make them possible. What is impossible with man is possible with God. Put your trust in Him and dry land or wilderness will become a fruitful land and forest.

Today, we shall be looking at a case study of a woman. She was getting ready to eat her last meal and die. She was in an impossible situation, but, see how the Lord turned her case around.

In 1stkings 17:8-15 “And the word of the Lord came unto him saying arise, get thee to Zarephath, which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there; behold I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee. So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city behold, the widow woman was gathering sticks: And he called her and said, fetch me I pray thee, a little water in a vessel, that I may drink and as she was going to fetch it, he called unto her and said, bring me I pray thee a morsel of bread in thine hand.

And she said, the Lord thy God liveth, I have not a cake but a little oil in a cruise: And behold I am getting two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son that we may eat it and die….

And Elijah said unto her, fear not, go and do as thou hast said: But make me thereof a little cake first and bring it unto me and after make for thee and thy son.

For thus saith the Lord God of Israel, the barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruise of oil fail, until the day that the Lord sendeth rain upon the earth, and she went and did according to the saying of Elijah. And she and he, and her house did eat and the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruise of oil waste, according to the word of the Lord which He spoke be Elijah”.

From our text, the period that this widow was in was the time of severe famine. There was drought all over the land. A time when people were desperately looking for a way out of the hard nail biting situation that they were in

What may have made this woman’s case worse, was the fact that she was a widow who had a boy to cater for also. If this boy were able to help his mother, he would have been the one looking for the sticks or going to search for a solution. For a period of time, all her savings and foodstuffs was carrying her and her household but sooner than she thought, she ran out of everything she had but her very last meal after which she was ready to die. She had come to an impossible situation.

Are you in such a situation as well? Where all doors seem shut against you and as such you would rather die than live? Listen, God can still change your case in your favour. The widow, despite her predicament, obeyed the voice of the Lord through the prophet and the Lord turned her impossible situation around. God can do the same to you even right now.
