A Lagos-based cleric, Rev Abraham Oyebanji has called on all Nigerians not to consider themselves wise in any matter, but take everything to God for guidance. In these days of war and pestilence, only those who have the grace of God will survive.

Rev. Oyebanji, Shepherd-in-Charge of the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC), Idunnu Joshua Parish, in Egbeda area of Lagos, made this call in a message released in Lagos.

His words: “Brethren, you need God’s wisdom to navigate or paddle your life to safety. James tells us in James 1:5 about seeking wisdom: If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.

“Kneel down every morning before God and ask for forgiveness, mercy and strength to persevere and withstand the evil one; ask for wisdom for solution to problems confronting your life.

Rev. Oyebanji noted that the nation is currently faced with war as a result of insurgent activities in some parts of the country, while a foreigner brought in a dreaded pestilence into the country.

“These are part of the end-time signs, and the only solution for the average Nigerian is to turn to his Creator for solutions.
“God created this world as part of His kingdom, and made man His ambassador to oversee the government of the earth (to rule and govern it); but what happened? Man rebelled against his Maker and turned himself into ridicule,” he stated, noting that in the long run, while man may try, and governments make the necessary efforts, it is only God’s will that will prevail.

“Except the Lord builds the house, they labour in vain that build it. Brethren, put God first in your life, home, business, career, academics and in all things you do. Your success does not depend on your strategy, degree, diplomacy or connection but on your relationship with Christ.

“The word of God is the permanent cure for life’s ailments, afflictions, bitterness, unsuccessful marriage, business failure, barrenness and every negative thought that is bothering us as Nigerians,” he maintined.
