We read the comments of Mr. Femi Aribisala, analysing the actions and pronouncements on the issue of tithing and most especially on the Kaduna state Governor Alhaji Nasir El-Rufai as contained in his column in the Vanguard Newspaper of Sunday 10th December and we must say that we were  quite disappointed that a respected columnist with the pedigree of Mr. Aribisala, would offer such pedestrian and simplistic analogy on a matter which ordinarily shouldn’t engage his intellectual attention.

CEREMONIES to celebrate retired Chief of Army Staff and one-time Minister of Defence, General Theophilus Yakubu Danjuma’s 80th birthday were at the top of the Lagos social scene last Saturday. Commencing with a crowded thanksgiving service held in Cathedral Church of Christ at the Marina and culminating with a lavish open air reception at the Eko Atlantic City construction site at Bar Beach the event served not only to celebrate the General’s longevity but also to recollect his central role in Nigeria’s post-independence history.
