Professor Adenike Grange needs no formal introduction in this country. Her CV is as impressive as a well decorated Christmas tree. An excellent Paediatrician, she began her working career at the popular Mercy Street hospital in Lagos.

How have Nigerian women fared thus far?

Although her desire was to study computer science in the university, her father had a different idea. He wanted his daughter to study medicine. Having spent quite some time as a child visiting dental clinics, it is not unlikely that she got fascinated with that field of medicine and decided to study dentistry at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ife where she bagged a degree in dental surgery.

Professor Mrs. Ibironke Akinsete is a Haematologist and an expert in the area of women’s health who has distinguished herself in her chosen career. She is a founding member of the Society for Women and AIDS in Africa, Nigeria (SWAAN) and served as its President till 2000. She is a Life Patron of SWAAN, former Chairperson; National Agency for the Control of AIDS and Presidential Adviser on HIV/AIDS. She is on the board of several companies’ organizations and NGOs. And currently the Chairman of Path Care Medical Laboratory, Lagos.
