Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has described governors of the All Progressives Congress as “politically lazy” following their opposition to his Rainbow Coalition ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The governorship candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement, APM, in Oyo State, Bimbo Adekanmbi, has denied being a political surrogate of Governor Seyi Makinde, insisting that he would take responsibility for every decision he makes if elected governor in 2027.

The cleric said the bishops’ decision to endorse Tinubu was based on their conviction that he remained the candidate they should support.

According to him, the 2027 presidential contest is essentially a three-horse race involving Tinubu, Atiku and Obi, while dismissing the prospects of other contenders.

“The APC Governors Forum unanimously resolved that its members will not participate in, support or endorse any alliance or political arrangement capable of undermining the re-election of Mr President, weakening the APC or adversely affecting any candidate of the party at all levels.

Na’Allah said his loyalty as a Democrat was ultimately to the wishes of his people, stressing that he would not use his political position to compel them to support a party against their preference.

The ADC said the development raises doubts about the impartiality of university staff who typically serve as election officials.
