THE Plateau State Contributory Health Management Agency, PLASCHEMA, has commenced the enrollment of retirees into its equity plan of the State Social Health Insurance Scheme to enable the retired workers access free healthcare.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, has indicated interest in enrolling the state public workers in the Employee’s Compensation Scheme, ECS, of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund, NSITF.

The Nigeria Union of Pensioners, NUP, has lamented the conditions of public sector retirees, saying some of them still receive N500 as a monthly pension in the country.

The two-day retreat on “Building a Stronger NSITF,” organized to acquaint the Senate and House of Representatives Committees on Labour and Employment on the workings of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund, NSITF

NSITF, has achieved a significant milestone in its commitment to workers’ welfare and social protection by compensating over 103,292 beneficiaries under the Employees’ Compensation Scheme, ECS. 

Civil Servants have reiterated their demand for the payment of gratuities to public employees at retirement.
