AGAINST the background that Hajj means stranger, Hajj is a Muslim pilgrimage to the holy land of Makkah and other places in Saudi Arabia during the month of Hajj. It is one of the five pillars of Islam that is compulsory once in a life time of a Muslim that is able to meet its conditions. Hajj has a lot of benefits ranging from the spiritual to the mundane to those who perform it.

Members of the Majlis Ansarullah of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at, has urged governments at all levels to imbibe the true elements of good governance in all facets of public administration, adding that they should fulfill all the promises made during the electioneering campaigns as failure to do that would not enthrone good governance.

THE Federation of Muslim Women’s Associations in Nigeria (FOMWAN) has cautioned against the call for the ban of hijab in Nigeria, especially in the northern part of the country. In a statement by the National President of the association, Hajia Amina B. Omoti, the association reiterated that the banning of the use of hijab is not the solution to the insecurity in the region.

ALhaja Gawat Fatimat Folashade, wife of the missing Islamic programme presenter on NTA, Alhaji Aremu AbdurRasaq Gawat, has been appointed member of the Adhoc Committee for 2015 Hajj in Lagos State. The appointment which takes immediate effect was approved by the State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode.
