2016 Hajj: Don’t bring kolanuts into our country, S/Arabia warns pilgrims
The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) on recently said it was in receipt of a circular from the Government of Saudi Arabia prohibiting the importation of kola nuts, popularly called “goro”, “obi” in hausa and yoruba parlance into the Kingdom during the 2016 Hajj.
Need for religious tolerance
At about some weeks ago some incidences were reported in the daily newspapers which happened as a result of religious intolerance and illiteracy. The first incident was said to had occured on May 29 in which one Mr.Methodus Emmanuel, a 24-year old trader from Pandogari, Niger state, was attacked and killed by mob of youths on an allegation that he posted a blasphemous statement about Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) on the social media. Three persons were said to have lost their lives in that sad incidence.
Jigawa fixes N1.1m as hajj fares
The Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced the 2106 Hajj fares for the intending pilgrims from the state. Director operations of the Board, Alhaji Ahmed Labs disclosed this to newsmen in Dutse that the least amount to be paid to perform the 2016 Hajj from the State is N1,020,068.92; the minimum is N1,069,318.92 while the maximum is N1,167,818.92.
Maintaining good acts after Ramadan
The best of all acts of goodness are the ones followed up with its like. Engaging in good deeds at all times is a character of righteous people for, acts of obedience do not have a specific time. It is rather Allah’s unconditional right upon His servants as long as they are alive. Though, the month of Ramadan is expected to be more than other time. Yet, worshipping Allah should not be restricted to Ramadan alone as there is no end to Muslim’s worship until he dies.
Islamic singer, Rukayat Gawat remembers missing dad
It is exactly four years after the missing of Nigerian Television Authority NTA’s popular broadcaster, Alhaji Aremu Rasqak Gawat; was declared missing in a controversial circumstance in Lagos. The daughter, Alhaja Rukayat Gawat-Oyefeso last Sunday staged a fidau prayer and big remembrance party for her missing dad. The event which took place at Muri International Television ‘MITV’ premises Alausa Ikeja, Lagos, was graced by Sheikh Muyideen Ajani Bello and Sheik Daud Abdul Majeed Eleha (Alfa Nla).
