Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr Idiat Adebule; Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar III and First Lady of Osun State, Alhaja Sherifat Aregbesola are some of the dignitaries that are expected at the Grand Finale of the Biennial Qur’an Memorisation Competition organised by the Muslim Students Society of Nigeria (MSSN) Lagos State Area Unit (LSAU).

National President of Nasrul-lahi-l-Fatih Society, NASFAT, Engr Kamil Bolarinwa has reaffirmed the society’s position on zero-level of corruption, urging all Muslims to desist from all acts of corruption while also supporting the anti-graft crusade of the Buhari-led administration. Engr Bolarinwa made this known during a press conference to unviel the Society’s programmes and activities during the glorious month of Ramadan.

Its days, in the sight of Allah, are the best of days; its nights are the best of nights; its hours are the best of hours. It is a month in which you are invited to be the guests of Allah, and you are regarded during it as worthy of enjoying Allah’s Grace. Your breathing in it praises the Almighty, and your sleeping adores Him. Your voluntary acts of worship are accepted, and your pleas are answered.

Relief materials worth over N2 million have been donated by Humanity First Canada in collaboration with its Nigeria counterpart to the Internally Displaced Persons, IDP’s affected by the Boko Haram insurgency in the North East of Nigeria.

Allah has blessed this ummah with the glorious season of fasting. It is a period where goodness is enjoined and even multiplied. A month of forgiveness where sinners purify themselves and get closer to the Creator. It is a month of giving and sharing. This is Ramadan, the glorious month, the blessed season, the uniqe period of worship. Allah has enjoined fasting in it, so that we may gain nearness to him.
