The Muslim Ummah of the South West Nigeria (MUSWEN) has urged Muslims to continue to pray for peace and tranquility in the country even after the celebration of Eid-el-Fitr. This was contained in its Eid-el-Fitr message sent to Vanguard recently. The umbrella body of the Muslis in the South West said: “MUSWEN felicitates with all Muslims in the South West region in particular and the entire country in general as this year’s Ramadan comes to a successful end. Alhamdu Lillah. We thank the Almighty Allah for enabling us to see its end alive with good health peaceful coexistence.
“While celebrating the festivities of Eidul-Fitr, we should remember the social and spiritual gains of the sacred month and fulfill our covenant with Allah in such a way that those gains will not be taken away from us by Satan. We should be kind to the less privileged ones in our celebrations. Such celebrations should exemplify the remorse and humility we imbibed in the sacred month of Ramadan.
“We should also remember that Ramadan is not only a symbol of our submission to the Will of Allah, it is also a reminder of what our conduct towards others should be as Muslims throughout the rest of the year. “We urge our Imams in all Mosques to pray for peace and tranquility in Nigeria while enjoining their congregations to also pray with the members of their families in their respective homes daily at the end of every Salat.
