Police Service Commission under Okiro, the chicken has come to roost
The recent announcement of the nomination of former Inspector-General of Police, Sir Mike Mbama Okiro, to head the Police Service Commission, (PSC), was received with wild jubilation across the length and breath of the country. In fact, the joy was more pronounced in police formations across the country as both the rank and file openly commended the choice made by President Goodluck Jonathan even when the relevant bodies are yet to endorse it.

N-A-R-R-O-W E-S-C-A-P-E : Drug suspect escape death after failing to excrete cocaine
A suspected drug trafficker, Onedigbo Chibueze, narrowly escaped death recently in Lagos after he failed to excrete a wrap of cocaine which he inserted into his anus while trying to smuggle illicit drugs to Pakistan. The suspect was arrested alongside one other, Akwaeze Anthony, at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, MMIA, when operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, during routine screening of Qatar Airline flight spotted and apprehended them.
