Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)  in Oyo  State  under the leadership of Governor Christopher Adebayo Alao-Akala has been commended for its vision, steadfastness and  record support  for the campaign for  President Goodluck Jonathan to stay in power beyond 2011 which scaled a major hurdle with the clearing of the president   to contest next year’s presidential election by the National Executive Council (NEC)  of the PDP last  Thursday .

The commendation was made by the Oyo State coordinator for  the Goodluck Support Group (GSG), Mr Dare Adeleke.

Adeleke,  who eulogized  the  bold step taken by the NEC of the party,  maintained that it was quite pleasing and remarkable that Alao-Akala was the first governor to declare openly his unalloyed support for the presidency of Jonathan beyond  2011 before the position became popular among the governors and  PDP leaders.
