By Emma Arubi
WARRI — A RENOWED business woman and a motor cycle (Okada) rider yesterday lost their lives in a motor accident in Warri, Delta State, while her two children, a woman and a male driver of the other vehicle are in  coma in a hospital.

Sources told Vanguard that the accident which happened along the lonely Nigerian Gas Company/Ubeji Community Road late in the night,  must have been caused by a particular failed portion of the road, close to the NGC entrance.

It was gathered that while the Okada rider died on the spot, the woman, popularly known as Tosan gave up the ghost before she could get medical attention as all government hospitals in the state are presently on strike over salary related issues.

She was said to be returning home at the close of business in her red coloured Nissan car in company of her children when she met her untimely death.

Witnesses told Vanguard that the woman, the Okada rider was carrying had one of her legs chopped-off in the accident while the owner of the other vehicle and the children are in coma.

Vanguard earnt that the man whose identity could not be immediately ascertained, had got back to his home, Ubeji, for the day only for the wife to have allegedly ordered him back to wherever he was coming from and it was during this return journey to God knows where that he got involved in the fatal accident.

When Vanguard visited the scene, scores of Road Safety Marshals and policemen were seen busy directing traffic and taking measurements.

Residents of Ubeji and regular users of the road blamed the NGC and relevant government authorities for the unfortunate incident, saying that the bad spot have always caused road mishap along the road and called for the immediate re_surfacing of the full length of the road with street lights installed as the it constitute death trap at night as it was usually lonely, quiet and dark.
