Ghana’s hope of playing in the semi-final of the 2010 World Cup  was Friday, dashed, when they lost to Uruguay via penalty shoot-out after a pulsating 120minutes game at the Soccer City Stadium, Johannesburg .

The game ended 1-1 at regulation time. But Uruguay  won the shoot-out   4-2.
