Ebonyi disburses N100m to private hospitals

ABAKALIKI — EBONYI State Government has disbursed N100 million to six mission/private hospitals in the state.

This brings to N600 million the amount the government has given out to private hospitals for them to augment primary health care services in the state.

The six private hospitals established by the missionaries years ago are all located in different rural areas of the state, which patients patronise more than government-owned cottage and general hospitals.

They have continued to receive grants from the state government more that the state-owned hospitals.

A breakdown of the disbursement indicates that Mile 4 Hospital got N13.5m; St. Vincent Hospital, Ndubia, N17.7m; Sudan Mission Reformed Church Hospital, N18.2m; Rural Improvement Mission, Ikwo, N16.6m; Presbyterian Joint Hospital Uburu, N16.5m and Mater Misericordae Hospital, Afikpo, N17.5m.
