IT was a season of awards for the students of Federal Science and Technical College, Yaba, the students won the highest number of medals at the recently held Federal Government Colleges Games and also first in an ITC competition organisd by CISCO.
At the games competition, the school emerged the overall first position (boys’ category) with Ibrahim Shokunbi, Okubadejo Joshua and Adesanya Ayodeji won the 5,000, 200 and 100 meters races respectively. The school also won the highest number of gold medals in the competition.
The school equally emerged the overall first in the 2016 National Business and Technical Education Board (NABTEB) external examination results.
This was revealed in the recently held Annual General Meeting of all principals of the 104 Unity Colleges, in Uyo, December, 2016 where analyses of the results of various subjects were made.
The school also came first in Nigeria and among the top five in Africa in an ITC competition organized by CISCO and would be representing Nigeria in a United Nations’ organized programme in March.
Also, Miss Chineye Ibeneme won the 2016 edition of the Terry Maxwell Book Review Project, where the book ‘Weep Not Child’ by Ngugi Wa Thiong, was reviewed. She walked away with the star prize of a Lap top and Cash Prize.
