UGHELLI—THE people of Iwhrekan community in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State have raised alarm over the continuous blackout they have been subjected to in the past six months.
The people of the community, in a statement by their Chairman, Sir Chavwuko Gbemre, noted that the development was taking a toll on them, lamenting that their socio-economic lives have been at the lowest ebb as a result of same.
Gbemre, said: “The unacceptable blackout experienced by locals of Iwhrekan community has been making life unbearable for us. Let us reiterate that Iwhrekan community is sole host to the Utorogu Gas Plant Phase 2 (NAG 2) and co-host to the Utorogu Gas Plant Phase 1 (NAG 1). But surprisingly, Iwhrekan community has not had electricity supply for over six months now.”
