PORT HARCOURT—THE Federal Government, through the Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige, has commended efforts by Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association, NECA, towards the successful implementation of the Employee Compensation Act, ECA.
Ngige spoke in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, at the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund, NSITF-NECA, Safe Work Intervention Project, SWIP, Awards.
According to the minister, the drive for successful implementation of ECA would promote occupational health and safety in the workplace in Nigeria.
He, however, appealed to NECA to do more in the area of coverage as many companies were yet to key into the scheme.
Also speaking, Director General of NECA, Mr. Olusegun Oshinowo, stressed the need for collaboration among social partners and other stakeholders towards a successful implementation of ECA.
