A hairdresser, Taiwo Atunramu, is battling to stay alive after she was gruesomely attacked with hot water by two housewives. The incident which occurred at Igbogila, Ipaja, Lagos recently has affected her face, chest and mammary glands.

The two suspects, Awawu Raimi, 40, and Temitayo Raimi, 42 were said to have invaded the shop of the hairdresser to avenge the burns sustained by a  daughter of one of the housewives while Atunramu (hairstylist) was making making her hair.

According to her: “I was in my shop when she (Raimi), brought her daughter to do her hair.

When I finished making the hair, I decided to use hot water to smoothen the tips of the hair.”

In the process of putting the hair in the hot water, some hot water splashed on the girl’s shoulder and I quickly dropped the bowl of water and applied grease on her shoulder.

The hairdresser said that when Raimi came to pick her daughter, she explained what had happened to the mother, apologised and refunded the money she had paid for the hair.

She added that Raimi, who was not happy about the incident, went home and told her mate (Temitayo) what happened.

Aturamu said: “I was closing my shop when the duo appeared with a big flask and all the same, I was about to apologise again, the duo opened the flask and poured hot water on my face, chest and breasts,” she stated.

She was immediately rushed to the hospital by witnesses; she suffered injuries on the face, chest and both breasts.”

Saturday Vanguard as at press time gathered that the matter has since been reported to the police and charged to court.

The offence contravened Sections 243 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011. Section 243 stipulates seven years imprisonment for grievous harm, while Section 409 prescribes a two-year jail term for conspiracy.
