Lagos—Although the administration of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode is a year and half in office, it has just started unravelling what it has in stock for Lagosians.
This was stated by the governor’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Strategy, Mr. Idowu Ajanaku, when he received a delegation of young professionals across the state in his office at Alausa. The delegates were led by Mr. Wale Adelakun, an ex-president of the Student Union Governing Council of the Federal University of Technology Akure.
According to Ajanaku; ‘’There are over 8,000 of both federal and state roads in Lagos, with most of them linking the rural with the urban areas. At the time of electioneering, the roads were in deplorable conditions.
‘’The governor immediately embarked on construction of two roads in each of the 57 local government the local council development areas, which has led to the completion of 114 roads. This has contributed in no small measure to the socio-economic development of the state.’’
He also said: ‘’The decision of the government to embark on the demolition of shanties and criminal hide-outs in recent times is in line with the vision of the government to developing Lagos as a mega city.’’
In is response, Adelakun praised the governor for keeping his campaign promises by opening up rural areas in Lagos and for changing the look of governance from elitist to such that has the common man at heart.’’
