AS Maryland Convent Private School, MCPS, celebrates its 50th anniversary, it has reiterated its commitment to nurturing children with high standard of education, yesterday.
At a briefing in Lagos, Head teacher of MCPS, Rev. Gladys Osagie, while unveiling the Jubilee Anniversary Celebration, pointed out that times and culture had changed over the years, but the school did not change from its mission.
Osagie said: ‘’For these past years our school has been a faith-based, and we have shunned religious discrimination, we open our door to whoever wants to come in, so far the parents are willing to follow our tradition.
”We are celebrating 50th years in formation of children; MCPS has never wavered from the original Mission of its founder. We are happy and thankful to God that this school has produced eminent personalities in our society and beyond.”
Estimated population of the school over 1,400 pupils, the discipline has been the watch word of the having child’s literacy in mind .
