UGHELLI—MEN of the 222 Battalion, Operation Pulo Shield, Agbarha-Otor, Ughelli have arrested a traditional Chief for allegedly vandalising and selling pipes belonging to the Nigeria Petroleum Development Company, NPDC.
The suspect, Chief Emma Nwankwo, 69 and father of 8, was paraded in company of three others yesterday at the Battalion for allegedly vandalising NPDC pipes from the ongoing Aburah Pipeline Replacement Project at Otokutu Steel village, Ughelli South local government area of Delta State.
Addressing newsmen at the battalion’s headquarters in Agbarha-Otor, spokesperson for the Joint Task Force, Col. Isa Ado explained that Chief Nwankwo and his accomplice specialise in purchasing stolen pipes.
According to the JTF image maker, “the suspect was arrested while making payment to one Mr. Stephen Bawharhe (link man) and Mr. Super Shelga who is a welder with an NPDC pipeline contractor.
