Yenagoa—Members of Bayelsa State House of Assembly, yesterday, screened the 15  names of commissioner nominees submitted to it by the state governor, Seriake Dickson, calling on them to put the state first above selfish considerations.

The lawmakers, led by the Speaker, Kombowei Benson, after an interactive and performance evaluation session of the nominees, who appeared before the House, reminded them that though the pressure from political associates and family members may become  unbearable due to their appointments as commissioners, the objective should be of service and loyalty to the state government.

Three of the nominees, who were former members of the House were asked to “bow and go” in line with the tradition of the House.
