BENIN—A founding member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and chieftain of the party in Edo State, Chief Samson Esemuede, yesterday, placed a curse on all those who allegedly attacked him and some leaders of the party, including former Senate Chief Whip, Senator Rowland Owie, at a stakeholders meeting of the party last week.

Other top leaders of the party who were attacked included Chief Clement Edo-Osagie, a former member of the constitutional conference and former deputy chairman of PDP in the state, former House of Representatives member, Ifaluyi Isibor, and former Publicity Secretary of the party, Osaze Jesurobo.

The incident occurred when the South-South Vice Chairman of the party, Mr. Cairo Ojougboh, called a stakeholders meeting to herald last Saturday’s ward congress of the party in the state.

Senator Owie, who entered the venue of the meeting, after loyalists of one of the governorship aspirants, Matthew Iduoriyekemwen, resisted the thugs, accused one of the top party governorship aspirants of masterminding the attack on him and others at the meeting.

However, the governorship aspirant told the former Owie that he had no hand in their travail.

Esemuede and Jesurob who spoke to Vanguard,  described the incident as shocking, saying that those who plotted the attack on the elderly leaders of the party will never grow old.
