Following the recent spate of suicide bombings around Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps in the North-East region of the country, by members of the Boko Haram terrorists, the National President, North-East Peace Youths Development Initiative, NEPYDI, Alhaji Kyari Abubakar, has urged youths from the zone to co-operate with security agents to end the ongoing violence.

Abubakar who made the appeal in a statement on Wednesday, explained that the ongoing insurgency in the north-east had dealt a deadly blow
to both humans and economy of the area.

He said: “The people of north-east region have suffered so much since the beginning of Boko Haram insurgency and every necessary support must be given to end the insurgency.”

According to Abubakar, the activities of Boko Haram insurgency had succeeded in increasing the level of poverty in the area and appealed to youths in the area and international organisations to be more involved in the effort to rebuild the area.

“The task of rebuilding north-east is what the federal government alone cannot do. I therefore appeal to youths, international community and private organisations to complement the effort of the federal government,” he said.

It could be recalled that the chairman appointed to rehabilitate the Internally Displaced Persons in camps across north-east, Gen. T Y Danjuma recently stated that the country needed over N2 trillion to rehabilitate the people of the area displaced by Boko Haram insurgency.

Abubakar commended President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration for his commitment to end Boko Haram insurgency in the area and to rehabilitate those displaced.
