In response to the rise in the number of failed marriages recorded in the society, Leonard Okwudili Okonkwo launched two insightful books aimed at assisting married couples as well as the unmarried to understand the basics of marriage. The book titled, ‘Solid Foundation for a happy marriage and key points in a happy marriage’, which was presented to the public at the Union Bank sports complex, Surulere Lagos, penultimate weekend, brought together the high and mighty of the freight forwarding industry.
Above all, Okonkwo’s book was written to proffer solutions to challenges in marriage to ensure sanctity in the marriage institution. Reviewing the book, Mr. Sola Williams Tokede, noted that “Solid foundation for a happy marriage” which has 112 pages, ten chapters shared into three major parts, while key points in a happy marriage has 113 pages, seven chapter divided into four parts, is made up of seven chapters.
She further noted that the book highlights the importance of not getting into marriage just because ones mates are doing so, and end up making a mess of the union, adding that “Nowadays the institution of marriage is facing serious challenges, many young people enter into marriage unprepared and this often gives rise to series of groundless, unwanted, offensive and ugly situations between husbands and wives”.
Recommending the books to Christian homes and marriage instructors, Prince A Okenwa, said that the book offers valuable information for unmarried and married couples. He said Key points in a happy marriage is a sequel to fulfilment in marriage and that both contains enough information painstakingly gathered to assist the married and those preparing for marriage.
“I encourage young adults to get a copy of the books, and apply the whole information wisely, as it contains a lot of nuggets for a successful marriage.”
