The Interparty Advisory Council, IPAC, has been dissolved in Cross River State, following a  vote of no confidence passed on them by the Chairmen and secretaries of nine political parties in the state, weekend and a five-man care taker committee set up to take charge of its activities.

The vote of no confidence, according to a source, is coming on the heels of the executives plan to return for a second term on the expiration of their tenure,  which was said to be resisted by majority of the political parties in the state.

The five-man IPAC team is headed  by PPA state Chairman, Mr Patrick Ali, with APGA Chairman, Dr. Fidelis Okoh, as Deputy Chairman and the state Chairman of NCP, Martin Bujor, as Secretary.

Other members of the executive committee  include Mrs Helen Eke, Woman Leader,  Labour Party and the state chairman of Action Alliance, Mr Eniang Offiong.

The parties that attended the meeting and endorsed the dissolution and subsequent setting up of a care-taker committee included PDP, APC, APGA, NCP, FDP, AA, LP, ID and PPA.

The new Secretary of IPAC,  Marin Bujor, said the leadership will ensure that all political parties work for promotion of democratic ideals in the state.
