IN this  dispensation of “Change” , it is consoling that a personage like Dr. Osagie E. Ehanire is among the nominees for ministerial positions. As an accomplished medical doctor/surgeon he has distinguished himself in the medical profession and politics.

As a globally acknowledged surgeon he studied at Ludwig Maximillians University, Munich, Germany. He also holds a post graduate Diploma from the Teaching Hospitals of the University of Dusseldorf and Essen Germany. Dr. Ehanire specialised in Anaesthesiology, General Surgery and Orthopaedic Trauma Surgery.

As senior Registrar, Clinical Instructor, University of Benin Teaching Hospital he introduced so many policies that led to the excellent services being provided by the teaching hospital.

As the Edo State coordinator of General Muhammadu Buhari Campaign Organization where he put a strident defence of Buhari, from coast to coast, Dr. Osagie Ehanire campaigned vigorously for the election of Buhari by investing his resources and mobilising groups and championing the cause of “Change”.

With a background of a technocrat, medical practitioner, politician and management guru, Dr. Osagie Ehanire fits into the team expected to bring about the envisaged “Change” which the present administration is championing.

In the area of humanitarian services and philanthropy, Dr. Ehanire has used his personal resources to elevate many disadvantaged people to better and improved life. In his home state of Edo, he has used his resources to offer scholarships to indigent students.

Out of his conviction for Buhari’s stance on corruption, he joined the fray and has continuously propagated the cause across the length and breadth of Edo state and beyond. It is gratifying that the President has made right choices with the nomination of eminent Nigerians like Dr. Ehanire as ministers.

This team will be in the forefront to restore the glory of the land by providing adequate healthcare, reconstructing our dilapidated infrastructures such as roads, railways, power and the aviation sector. They will also have a herculean task to rebuild our dilapidated school buildings, revive Ajaokuta Steel plant which has being lying fallow since 1984. To sum it up, the new team must gird their loins to ensure that the agenda of Mr. President reflects positively in the lives of all Nigerians.

Dr. Ehanire represented Congress for Progressive Change in the merger conference that culminated into the formation of All Progressive Congress, APC.

A native of Edo state, he was also a divisional consultant surgeon with the Shell Petroleum Development Company Ltd. He is also a trustee of the TY Danjuma Foundation and chairman of the board’s programmes, grants and policy committee.
