Former Super Falcons midfielder, Maureen Mmadu has backed the national team to over come their Equatorial Guinean counterparts when they clash in today’s Rio 2016 Olympic Games qualifier in Bata, Equatorial Guinea.

The Super Falcons boxed themselves into a tight corner in the first leg decided in Abuja, after they were forced to a 1-1 draw by Equatorial Guinea. The Falcons coached by Christopher Danjuma will need a win to confirm their movement to the next round of matches. And Mmadu, one of the players who helped the team to qualify for the Sydney 2000 Olympics Games stated that the Super Falcons have the edge despite playing away from home.

“I think we can make it, since they have played at home. No doubt the coach must have figured out what went wrong in the first leg and has sit down with the players and show them their mistake and also show them the opponent’s weak side, so we can capitalize on it and also come up with a strategy that can give us the result that we want there in Bata,” said Mmadu

She added that the players have to be motivated and so that they can channel teir energy to producing a good result.
