BENIN CITY—YOUTH leaders of the All progressives Congress, APC, in the South South, yesterday, appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to appoint a Special Adviser to head the Amnesty office so as to avoid unnecessary tension in the Niger Delta region.
The APC youths who agreed with the reasons adduced by the leader of the defunct Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta, MEND, that the reason for the tension in the Niger Delta was as a result of the failure by the Federal Government to pay the bills of the beneficiaries of the Amnesty Programme who are in different schools abroad, urged the Federal Government to act fast so as to douse the tension in the region.
The APC youths in a statement by Idoko Kabeni, said: “We decided to make this appeal to our President who we are aware is making efforts to clean up the system bastardized by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.”
