Family petitions Police over alleged murder of son

KADUNA- Kaduna State Police Commissioner, Alh. Umar Shehu, has been petitioned by a family alleging the murder of a member by one Abdul Haladu, son of General Aliyu Haladu (retd)

The petition, which receipt was acknowledged and stamped by the office of the Police Commissioner on May 7, 2015, from the family of Jafar Y. Mugero of 5Q,   Kawo, New Extension, in Kaduna North Local Government Area, LGA, read: “With due respect and honour, I wish to complain of the above named person (Abdul Haladu)

‘’On  May 2, 2015, one of my sons by name, Samaila Adamu, residing at Amana Mai Malaci, Igabi Local Government Area,  went to a wedding ceremony. While there, Abdul Haladu arrested him, shot him and killed him.
“He then took his corpse to the Divisional Police Headquarters, Rigachikun.

‘’He told the police that he suspected him to have stolen his cows. All efforts by our family to know what really happened proved abortive.

“We would like you to use your good office and cause investigation into the matter with a view to  bringing any culprit to book.”

Jafar Mugero, father of the deceased, told journalists that upon receiving the information of the death of his son, he drove down to the Riga Chikun Police divisional office where he met the Divisional Crime Officer, DCO, and Divisional Police Officer, DPO.

He said that after meeting the police at Rigachikun, he was promised that the corpse of his son would be released for burial, but only on the condition that he would not make trouble.
