Port Harcourt— THE Independent National Electoral Commission,  INEC, in Rivers State, has dismissed as untrue, allegations by All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state that it was frustrating the party’s effort to access documents used for the April 11 elections in the state.

Administrative secretary of the commission, Mr Roy Obijuru, in a statement, weekend,  said the party was merely standing the truth on its head, adding that the party had been given certified true copies of forms ECBC 1 and EC4OG, for the governorship and House of Assembly elections in the 23 local government areas of the state.

He said that INEC received application for the documents from the APC and other political parties, adding that it got the documents between April 16 and 29.

He said the second application for documents the APC sent was received on April 28, adding that the documents were already being photocopied to be forwarded to the party.

INEC in its statement yesterday attached the application letters for the documents by the APC and its state Chairman, Mr. Davies Ikanya and how the mails moved within its office.

The electoral body also attached photocopies of other documents including staff movement chart to strengthen its positions that there was no attempt to frustrate the APC.

It will be recalled that the APC had alleged that the electoral body had denied it access to documents it requested to prosecute its case at the tribunal.
