…distributes 1,000 treated mosquito nets

As part of activities to mark its 51th anniversary, the Nigerian Airforce Logistics Command, Ikeja, Lagos,  Tuesday, gave free medical treatment to over 2,000 residents within Oshodi/Isolo Local Government Area.

Alimosho Local Government Area and neighbouring communities also benefited from the gesture, which also saw the Command distributing over 1,000 treated mosquito nets to pregnant women and nursing mothers.

A sanitation around old Ewu Road, Mafoluku, where a blocked drainage channel was cleared, was also carried out by officers and men of the Command.

Speaking at the event, the Air officer Commanding, AOC Logistics Command, Air Vice Marshal Abdullahi Shehu, described the gesture as part of the Airforce’s corporate social responsibility as well as a clear indication of civil-military relation.

He said:   “We are here to extend our hands of friendship to the communities that live with us. This is a yearly event and what you are witnessing today is part of the series of event lined up to celebrate our 51st anniversary.”
