UMUAHIA—THE Symbol of Hope Foundation has conferred two awards on the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Ceecon Energy Oil and Gas Limited, Mr. Chimaobi Anyaso for his philanthropic activities and scholarship to over 400 less privileged students in the society.
Speaking at the event held at Hotel Royal Damgrete, Umuahia, the Abia State capital, the National Coordinator of the foundation, Dr. Victor Chibueze, said: ‘’We have observed the philanthropic activities of the Ceecon Energy boss and chose to present the awards to encourage him to do more.’’
Chibueze further said that the Foundation had conducted rural outreaches by providing free health care; donation of equipment to schools, hospitals and orphanages as well as relief materials to prisons and organisation of transformational programmes for ex-convicts.’’
He also said that the Symbol of Hope Foundation was involved in charity organisation as well as reaching out to the less privileged through various life saving/ humanitarian projects, scholarship for indigent students and empowerment for youths and women through vocational training.
Presenting the awards to the Ceecon Energy boss, Chibueze who was flanked by the South East Coordinator of the Foundation, Mr. Hector Daniel, among other officials, said the oil magnate was chosen for the Distinguished Humanitarian Service and Distinguished Business Personality Awards for his numerous philanthropic activities aimed at improving the welfare of the poor and needy.
“We have heard a lot about your philanthropic activities; the assistance you have been rendering to the less privileged in the society across the state; free medical services, the school you built in your community and about the Ahuoma Educational Foundation, Igbere, Bende Local Government Area, Abia State. We were also told about your free education and scholarship scheme.
‘’We carried out some detailed investigations on your philanthropic activities and were satisfied with what we got, hence, the board of Symbol of Hope Foundation chose to present these awards to encourage you to do more for the society,” Chibueze said. Receiving the awards, Anyaso said he had dedicated them to the students of his school, Ahuoma Educational Foundation and the less privileged in the society.
“I am grateful to the Symbol of Hope Foundation for these awards. I have received several awards from several organisations I never knew. I also never knew that my little efforts to assist the less privileged in the area of education, health, vocational training and other forms of empowerment are being noticed by people.
I am just a small boy from this part of the world doing my little things. Giving is business; it is profitable, very rewarding. I have over 400 students studying at my school, Ahuoma Educational Foundation, Igbere. I will partner with your Foundation to continue and make life more meaning to the less privileged,’’ he added.
