Warri Wolves
*Club Africain walk-over Dolphins

Warri Wolves yesterday handed a 2-0 defeat to visiting Dedebit of Ethiopia in the first leg second round of the CAF Confederations Cup match decided at the Warri Township Stadium.
Oghenekaro Etebo was in no nonsense mood when he finished off a smooth move through the heart of Dedebit FC defence to give Warri Wolves the opening goal in the 4th minute of play. The goal was greeted with a rapturous ovation from the scanty spectators on the stands. But that was all the difference between the two teams as the visitors quickly settled for business. The Ethiopian club, with Samuel Sanumi, a Nigerian in their ranks seized the midfield and punctuated numerous attacking moves of Wolves.
The first half ended 1-0 in favour of Wolves.
The second half began in a fast tempo as the Ethiopians continued from where they stopped. They came close to equalizing in the 48th minute after a good combination between Sanumi and Fikadu missed target narrowly.
Gbolahan Salami was drafted in for Onorfoma Freedom. The change brought a sense of urgency in the attack of the home side. But the Ethiopians continued to harass Wolves whose display was largely uncoordinated.
Goalkeeper Abu Suleiman brought down goal-bound Oghenekaro in the vital area midway into the second half to give the homers a penalty. It was deservedly converted by Gbolahan Salami.
Meanwhile, it was gathered that Nigeria’s other represen-tative Dolphins failed to make it on time to Tunis and were walked over by Club Africain.
Dolphins touched down in Tunisia at about 1pm Saturday for the game fixed for 3pm same day. They failed to get transportation to the Stadium as the hosts were not forth coming with a bus that will take them to the stadium and by 3.00pm they were walked over by the match officials.
