Awka — AVIATION Minister, Chief Osita Chodoka is leading top officials of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Anambra State to the three senatorial zones of the state for a final push at wooing voters for President Goodluck Jonathan.

Apart from meetings with members of the state presidential campaign committee, Chidoka has also addressed traditional rulers in the three zones during which he spoke of the need to ensure peace in their domains before, during and after the elections scheduled for March 28, 2015.

He also urged the royal fathers to go to their various domains and educate their subjects on the need to collect their permanent voter cards, PVCs, and ensure that peace reigned in their communities, during and after the elections.

Speaking in an interview after one of the meetings at Obosi in Idemili North local government area, Chidoka said PDP recognized the fatherly role of the traditional rulers in their various communities, adding that for a peaceful poll, the royal fathers should prevail on their subjects to maintain peace.

The minister explained that with the issue of the rightful candidates of the party settled, stakeholders had started strategizing on how to work as one family to ensure that President Goodluck Jonathan was voted overwhelmingly in Anambra State.

“Victory for us means that PDP candidates win in all the elections in Anambra and we must therefore ensure that our supporters and voters come out and vote and the only way they can vote is for our people to collect their PVCs and use them on the day of the election,” Chidoka said.

Meanwhile, the state coordinator of the Presidential Campaign Committee, Chief Okey Ezenwa has said that in addition to ensuring that President Jonathan secures majority of the votes in Anambra State, his committee would assist the various candidates for other elective positions in their campaigns.

He said: “You are aware that the Court of Appeal has taken decision on who are the candidates of PDP in Anambra State and so, we don’t have any confusion about the candidates in PDP any longer.”

Ezenwa said it is a known fact that Anambra is predominantly a PDP state, adding that the party would work hard to ensure victory at all levels.
