Police Command said, yesterday, that it had recovered arms, ammunition and two vehicles from arm robbers in Enerhen, Uvwie Local Government Area of the state.

State Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs Celestina Kalu, in a statement, said: “On November 29, a patrol team from Enerhen Road received information about hoodlums around Enerhen Junction Motor Park, along Edosah Lane, Off Enerhen Road.

“The team responded and the suspected hoodlums, on sighting the Policemen abando-ned one Toyota Highlander jeep with number plate LSD610CH (Lagos) and one Toyota car with number plate AG562ASB (Delta) and fled.

“The team went after the hoodlums and in the process one loaded, locally-made cut-to-size double-barrelled gun fell from one of the criminals.”

Kalu added that items recovered from the fleeing suspects include one locally-made cut-to-size double-barrelled gun with two live cartridges, one Toyota Highlander jeep, one Toyota Camry car.

She said: “When the two vehicles were searched, one driver’s licence, bearing Debole Ebi Collins, was recovered in the highlander jeep, while one driver’s licence, vehicle particulars, Delta State University Teaching Hospital and Shell Petroleum Development Company identity cards were recovered in the Toyota Camry car.

“Efforts are on to arrest the fleeing suspects and locate the owners of the vehicles.”
