Super Eagles midfielder Raheem Lawal has said that they hope to overturn Nigeria’s bad run of form by beating their next opponents in the race for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations and qualifying for next year’s African championship.

The African champions play the Red Devils of Congo this weekend in Point Noire in a game they must win and then Bafana Bafana of South Africa next Wednesday in Uyo, in another game they must win.

The Eski_ehirspor of Turkey midfielder only recently returned to the Eagles’ fold after he was out for last month’s qualifiers against Sudan in Khartoum and Abuja.

He also admitted that they are going through a bad run of form at the moment, but hope to overturn it starting with Saturday’s game against Congo.

“That’s football for you, sometimes you have good times and sometimes there are bad times and for us, it is a bad time now and we must return to the winning ways,” he said.

“We must win those games against Congo and South Africa and hopefully we will begin to have some good time again.”

The 24-year-old was one of the first overseas based players to arrive in the Super Eagles camp on Monday.

The Super Eagles are third in qualifying group A with four points in as many games, and must beat the Congolese by at least a two goal margin and then beat South Africa to be guaranteed of a place at the next AFCON.
