ALagos High Court sitting in Ikeja, yesterday, sentenced three bus conductors to 21 years imprisonment after finding them guilty of conspiracy to commit armed robbery.The convicts include Paul Sunday, 30; Adewale Taofeek, 27; and Shina Shoyeye, 24.
The suspects had pleaded not guilty to the charge brought against them by Lagos State government.
In his judgment, the presiding Judge, Justice Adeniyi Onigbanjo, said the prosecution had credible, cogent and convincing evidences before the court and had proven its case beyond reasonable doubt.
Justice Onigbanjo noted that the 21years jail term would run concurrently, starting from the date the defendants were remanded in prison custody on December 1, 2009.
The judge further said that the finding of the court was not only based on the confessional statement made by one of the convicts, but also looked outside the confessional statement.
