BENIN— EDO State Government has immorta-lised Dr. Samuel Ogbemudia, the former governor of the defunct Mid-West and Bendel States, by unveiling a statue in his honour at the state’s stadium, in celebration of his 82nd birthday, describing him as a living icon.

While unveiling the statue, yesterday, Governor Adams Oshiomhole said: “This statue, I believe, captures the genuine feelings of Edo people; a small token of formal recognition of Ogbemudia’s unparalleled service to our people.”

Earlier, Dr. Ogbemudia commended the governor for his wonderful performance in Edo State and for setting a pace for all to follow.
