The mission of the Delta Oshobe 2015 Group to the Boji-Boji Owa residence of the Chief of Staff, Government House, Asaba, Dr. Festus Goziem Okubor, met with a huge success when their host acceded to their call on him to contest the 2015 governorship election but with conditions.
The group, in the forefront of the clamor for the Chief of Staff to contest the 2015 governorship election, finally made good its promise to submit a communiqué of its Agbarho resolution “to send a team of the group representing all local government areas in Delta to Okubor to demand of him to declare for the governorship race for Government House, Asaba in 2015 unfailingly”.
Led by Chief Olori Magege, Chairman of Delta state Waste Management Board, the group told Okubor that the 2015 gubernatorial election is by the corner and that they wanted him to declare for the race.
Magege, in his speech, entitled, “Run, Okubor Run”, said: “Last Saturday, we met at Agbarho and resolved to send a delegation to you. 2015 guber is by the corner and we want you to declare for the race. Our decision is based on several sterling qualities God endowed you with and several you acquired in the course of your life sojourn’’.
In his response, Okubor spoke about the concept of Oshobe, which means that all hands must be on deck in the journey to collectively achieve ‘’the Delta State of our dream’’. He also spoke of his dream to see agriculture revolutionized, including education and other sectors of the economy, a state in which security of lives and property will not be a challenge.
