Bauchi — The Fire Service in Bauchi State, yesterday, said it recorded 101 fire incidents between  January 2013  and  April 2014.

The State Director of the service,  Alhaji Tata Azare who made this known in Bauchi said that seven people were killed while 65 lives were saved and property worth N129 million lost.
“The highest number of fire incidents we recorded were in market places and shops while those in residential houses and offices were low.

“We observed that most of the fire disasters were as a result of electrical faults,usage of candles, lack of proper storage of petrol and kerosene.
“We attended to more fire incidents in 2013 than the previous years, particularly towards the end of the year. Whenever we received any distress call, we usually swung into action to save the situation,” Azare said.
